Our debut album, Welcome To The Tiki Farm, is intended as a sonic field guide to The Tiki Farm in Pearlington, MS where chef Ernie Foundas grows the exotic fruits and vegetables used in the unique dishes prepared at Suis Generis Restaurant in New Orleans, LA. Taking a bio-acoustic approach, recorded sounds from birds to frogs to bugs to water and more, are used on the album as nature’s orchestra accompanying the musicians - a collaboration of sorts. Most of the song titles are the plants that grow on the farm as well as the local pond dwelling alligator; Motu. The sounds of the Tiki Farm are heard through out as the sonic motif for the music.

The music is inspired by exotica music of the 1950s/‘60s, film soundtracks and sci-fi. Enjoy this with your favorite food or beverage. Welcome To The Tiki Farm aims to transport the Tiki Farm to your body, mind and palate. Thank you for your time.

Please note that the vinyl sequencing differs from the streaming/CD versions in that ‘Welcome To The Tiki Farm’ is the last track on side two instead of track one, side one.

about a banana

PINK TEDDY BEAR

MUSA VELUTINA: the hairy banana, or pink banana, is a diploid species of wild banana. These plants are originally from Assam and the eastern Himalayas.

Based in New Orleans, La., and fresh out of the ground, Pink Teddy Bear is a savory music and visual experience. Inspired by nature, food, exotica music of the 1950s/‘60s and soundtracks, we cook up a sonic gumbo of Latin/African/Middle Eastern/Western grooves, electronics and soundscapes. As part of our musical palette we incorporate the recorded sounds of nature as a collaborator of sorts on the music. We are dedicated to the wonders and health of the big rock we all live on and consider it our partner in life and as such should be cared for.  Thank you for your time.

ALBUM RECORDING MEMBERS:

Top row, L-R: Leah Hennessy, Jonny Campos, Steve Dalton, Jose Hernandez

Bottom row L-R: Kimberly Hebert, Carlos Grasso, Danny Milojevic.

We'll be performing show in the New Orleans area this fall and winter, 2024.
